The travel industry has evolved into a different animal, with competition coming from all directions. A lot of factors come into play when planning travel. That’s why a travel agency should also try to become a travel consultant.
The major difference lies in the service rendered. A travel agency may deliver just the bare minimum, such as booking their tickets and preparing a cut-and-dried itinerary; a travel consultant on the other hand goes the extreme mile by first identifying the client’s preferences, and then coming up with a custom-made itinerary.
